The Luna Diaries- Entry 17Dear Diary,
This morning at breakfast I finally built up enough courage to show Tia my first term results. Her reaction was so unexpectedly positive that I started to wonder if she had known before hand and rehearsed what she was going to say. For the first time in weeks, she gave me a hug and told me how proud she was. I’m a little embarrassed to admit this but it was difficult for me to keep my composure as she coddled me. I could see Shining Armour snickering in my periphery, but a stern look instantly silenced him. Just as I was leaving for school, Tia promised that she would have a surprise waiting for me when I got home, which made me very excited.
At lunch, my flying teacher, Mr Comet Tail approached me with a very interesting offer. Apparently, the school runs an advanced flying class every Friday after school, with a focus on flying theory and practice. Part of the class is a scholarship for a six week boot camp style training at the cloudsdale summer flight camp at
The Luna Diaries- Entry 16Dear Diary,
I talked to Tia today, and it seemed to go well. I’ve learnt since I got back that the easiest time to talk to Tia is during meals because she is… preoccupied. So during breakfast I asked her to speak to Shining Armour about the way the day guards are treating my night guards. She promised to do so, but her tone sounded insincere. I pray that she isn’t telling me this only to placate me and make me forget about it all.
I was determined to make sure that some action was taken, so I personally headed out to the guard house to talk to Shining Armour. I was in my disguise at the time and I found out something very interesting at that point; not all of the guard is aware of my scholastic activities. I was turned away at least three times and even threatened before Shining Armour happened to walk out to see what the commotion was about. If any of the nobles had been passing by at that point, they would have gotten a very strange scene where a pair of guards wer
The Luna Diaries- Entry 15Dear Diary,
Well I have to say, I’m thoroughly disappointed. I spent all weekend scouring the archives for any mention of the Ponehenge stones and well… I found it. Turns out that Ponehenge was an outdoor fast food restaurant that had been owned my zebras.
So they had it set up so ponies in carriages would walk up to the first window and order what they wanted, and then move on to the next window, where they would be given their food. I also found out how they got the stones to the site; Zebrasai. A.K.A Pegasus zebras. They tethered the stones to themselves and then rested on clouds for the journey. They got shut down by the Equestrian guard after one of them found half a mouse in his lasagne and I suppose that everypony just forgot as time went on.
After I finished my ‘research’ I went down to the statue garden and went for a walk so I could try and clear my head of the frustration that had been brought around by my discovery. I was joined by Heart
The Luna Diaries- Entry 14Dear Diary,
We left our makeshift campsite not long after dawn, with not a single pony unhappy with the adventure. Since it was our last day in Trottingham, we were given free reign over what we did, as long as we stayed within our groups and didn’t do anything dangerous or against the law. All of us, even Sly, agreed to go down the main street and explore the multitude of stores that lined the cobblestone street. Each one had previously been a store in older times, and most of them had kept that same aesthetic. Aurora, Nebula and I ducked into a book store while Sunbeam, Sly and Miss PrimProse went into a souvenir shop that was next door. It didn’t take long for us to find the braille section for Aurora, and she found herself a copy of “The encyclopaedia of Equestrian Mythology” which she told me was a collection of a bunch of old stories, including “The Mare in the Moon” story. When I heard that, I immediately found myself a text copy so that I cou
Harmony isn't everywhere- Chapter 2Surprisingly enough, Twilight had been quite enthusiastic about accompanying him to Canterlot, and was even willing to talk to Princess Celestia and set it up beforehand. Quill politely refused her offer on the grounds of not wanting to call in favours when they might be better served later on; if he got immediately turned away by the royal guards for example. They agreed to go to Canterlot two days later on when the weekend was finally upon them.
After their weekend travel plans were all decided the team of writers; one veteran and the other fledgling, got to work on brainstorming their collaborative effort. Or at least tried to. Twilight wanted to do a story about Clover the Clever, first student of her idol; Star Swirl the bearded. It involved a trek across the great arctic wastelands in the search for an ancient artefact that would save the earthers from a plague, all the while being hunted by a rogue windigo.
“Well the problem with that is that Clover is a great historical f
Harmony isn't everywhere- Chapter 1The chilled autumn breeze whistled through the sunset coloured leaves of the apple orchard as clouds drifted lazily overhead. One cloud however, was not like the others, as resting upon the top was a sleeping figure. His snores blended perfectly with the sound of the wind, disguising him from the outside world, just as he had planned. His dark blue wings had curled themselves around his body as he slept, instinctively protecting his blue shirt clad chest from the cold.
Not awakening from his slumber, he rolled over; the edge of the cloud breaking away under his weight. Under his own design, that particular cloud was significantly lower than the others around it, but still high enough to make it look like a stray. However, under the volition of no one but the wind, his makeshift bed had drifted over a lake, leaving the unlucky man with a rude awakening as he hit the cold water and sunk beneath the surface.
When he arose, the first thing he did was to curse the cloud for being faulty; sw
Harmony isn't everywhere- Chapter 3Quill Scratch lazily opened his eyes, blinking away the tiredness as his body started to scream out in protest from every small movement from his joints. He hadn’t worked out that intensely in such a long time and as he eased himself upright, he could swear he had gained muscle, but the voice in the back of his mind told him that it was just wishful thinking. He got to his feet and made his way over to the window, pausing only to wonder how he had gotten changed into his pyjamas.
Pushing the window open, he let out a relaxed sigh at the rush of cold air that hit his face. When he tried to spread his wings however, he found them bound tightly to his back by coarse cloth bandages. Starting to hyperventilate at the thought of wings being injured and useless, he slumped onto his bed and started clawing at the bandages, trying to tear them away from his body. At the same time he began to cry out for anyone in the house to help him. A few moments later, both Lyra and Bon Bon burst thro
ReflectionsVal's pursuit led him to the foul beast's domain. The hollowed-out cavern reeked of blood and rancid meat. The dim light he had seen as he charged through the tunnel after the monster could now be identified: torches. Rows of mysteriously lit torches lined the walls of the huge cave. At its center was a substantially large labyrinth of mirrors.
He spotted the beast entering.
He spun his silver broadsword in his hand and hurried in behind it.
His garb was a simple blue and white crusader's leather with thick armored pads and reinforcing steel studs. Lightweight and flexible, but quite effective defense against blunt blows and – in a pinch – the slashing claws of the unholy spawn of the earth. All monster-hunters wore a similar variety in Val's experience. It would serve him well in these close quarters of the mirrored maze.
Right, left, forward, left, right he turned, always catching a glimpse of the beast's tail as he wove his way through the corridors. Every so often he sp
