Rainbow Dash stared at the canvas ceiling of the medical tent, as images of all the lives she had taken as Rainbow Dark rotating in her mind. Sounds of fighting in the distance were nothing but a muffled ringing in her ears as a deep sadness filled her heart. Derpy's face appeared in her mind's eye. The kind, intelligent Derpy that Rainbow had come to rely on, despite her clumsy behaviour, although she wasn't as clumsy as Rainbow remembered. The thought of Derpy in surgery brought Rainbow close to tears, as did the knowledge that Black Diamond, a pony that she thought of as her mentor, as well as an older brother, was willing to kill her with such enthusiasm. Applejack adjusted the wide-brimmed purple hat that sat on her head and took a deep breath, watching as her family prepared for a battle that would decide the very fate of Ponyville. He stood, despite being barely able to manoeuvre his tall frame in the small space. When he finally got fully upright both of his shoulders touched the sides of the closet sized room. He adjusted his dog tags, looking around for any noteworthy detail that would give him a clue as to his location. The spotless white walls seemed to have no kind of seam or edge, and he could see no way out. He began to pound on the wall in front of him, calling out for anybody that could possibly hear him. A red light appeared in the wall, flashing twice before stopping. The wall descended, and Nathan's eyes went wide as he saw what was on the other side; it was his bedroom, but it looked off. Nathan suddenly realised that is was set up in the opposite way to how he remembered. He stepped inside, and was greeted with warmth.
He looked to his left and spo
